Romantic themes and human dramas are the center point of most operas. The music, obviously, but the storylines are often intriguing, dramatic, and in many cases, tragic. That is why the venues are still packed when a performance is shown. Just as we still listen in wonderment to Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, and dozens more. We still stare in awe at the works of Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet, and others. And that applies to great artists as well as great composers.
